La Di Da

Well, la di da, just look at you.
I see how far you’ve climbed.
You think the common words you speak
sound like sweet poems rhymed?

So are you really all that great?
That sparkling new veneer
you show to us – with a few swipes
I know I could besmear.

Oh, la di da, you act as if
in awe we should kowtow
to you, who think you’ve got a roar.
It’s just a cat’s meow.

I know the you that lies beneath
the fancy clothes you wear.
You think you’re better than old friends -
yet still breathe our same air

So, la di da, Oh, la di da
to you and all your kind.
With toilet paper all the rich
are wiping their behind.

No different or better than
the rest of us are you.
You married up, but give it time . . .
your act he will see through.

Andrea, I have met people (a woman cited by you) who seem to think they are better than the rest of us. It may be a mark of their own insecurity. At least we can have friends who are not affected!

Great reminder that we all need to carry our own suitcase no matter how much we think we have achieved in this world. You have masterfully expressed our need to see the intrinsic value in each person - to help and support each of us to reach our full potential. The cadence of each line reflects the cadence of la di da! Wise words to remember, Andrea! Blessings!

Hehehe this is seriously fun or is it fun seriously.? Loved it, the message streams from each stanza like sweet poison. I am sure that there is someone in this world that it applies to. Well done Andrea. BOL. Wen

Dear andrea, why am i smiling haha. Spot on! I know few of them, hiding behind a facade, thinking they are superior than the rest. I find it repulsive really. Truth always prevails and true colors yes he will seee too, as eventually everything comes out. A brilliant poem this is, i wasnt sure what ladi da means but youv somehow given it a new meaning. Pleasure reading your work always

Ah that’s exactly what it meant from your poem, i have never heard of this word ever: is it commonly used there in the US? You always somehow define the word through your poems. I loved this. I have to fav this cus i have a hater like this in real life hah

Thank. It's not a new meaning though. It is used for mocking this type of person. What did it mean for you?
