Knowing What She Knew

Knowing what she knew
she let them misconstrue
and righteous was her smile
it made her feel worthwhile
Knowing what she knew

Knowing what she'd seen
She wasn't really keen
to be played like the rest
she'd passed the hardest test
Knowing what she'd seen

Knowing what she'd heard
She kept alive the word
that gave her solace sweet
with pride the day to greet
Knowing what she'd heard

Knowing truth from lies
she saw past hungry eyes
Kept firm her strict resolve
her conscience to absolve
Knowing truth from lies

Hey sweetie. How are you? Them are people who gossip about a woman without knowing the facts. Often reality is very different than appearances. However, the main part of the poem, Kim, is about a woman being able to withstand the advances of someone who doesn't have her best interest at heart. I hope that is clearer. Hugs, dear.

This describes so well a brave woman in my opinion..a woman firm to her believes ,and knowing truth from lies, yes that is brave, especially when the decisions She made are not popular to those hungry eyes. A woman who listens to her conscience, and do what is right.I so love to be like this woman you write about Eileen..That would make any woman -a lady. Love this..love it - to my fave.

Thank you, my sweet. Life is full of enticements. One may be strong at one point and not at another, but.....the pain of standing firm is better than the pain of regret. :) Thank you for your lovely post, sweetie....I would really LOVE to see you. We are celebrating my father's 80th in........MALTA! :) Five days....I can hardly wait. I've been wanting to see this magical place for SO long. It's people like YOU and Paul who make me want to go. Hugs.
