Knowing the Wood From the Trees

Waiting in the woods

     Where most wouldn’t stay,

          Wouldn’t wait for you,

               Wouldn’t wait at all,

Is where you will find me,

                         With wooden words

                              Carved for love’s sake,

                                   Waiting among wildflowers,

                                        Writing and waiting, and

Knowing the wood from the trees.
