Knots of Life

Staring for a while at a handkerchief, Buddha started making small knots on it. He asked his disciples the difference Between the plain one and with knots. It is the same but not the look of it. Mind of a person is just like that. We must know how the knots took place Then only we know how to untie them. If the knot is that of infatuation, To untie that knot be steady in desire If the knot is that of anger, To untie the knot be in peace. If the knot is made of enmity, To untie the knot be compassionate. If the knot is that of miserliness, To untie the knot be generous
*Based on Buddha's Teachings* ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Date: 12-1-14 Form: Free Verse Dr. Ram Mehta First Place Win Contest: Words of Wisdom by Debbie Guzzi Quote No.1 We come across many troubles in our life and go on to tie knots after knots. One will be living thro’ this. Not burning the bridge one has crossed once, one must return and try to know how to untie them At all times, in pain or pleasure,to prosper is the only measure.

The wisdom expressed through your analogical free verse is unmistakable. Regarding the quote you shared, there may yet be joy and reconciliation in a burnt bridge when those willing on either side are willing to work together to rebuild it. Much Respect, Dr. Mehta

Dear Ram, for me I never ask or want your name or mine on the bottom of a contest poem or the date [of course I would never disqualify for this just letting you know] but please do put if your verse relates to quote 1 or 2 & why? That was the only requirement Light & Love
