Knights Dream
While I slowly fell asleep last night
all my dreams belonged to you.
as I drifted through the twilight zone
one dream I had seemed true.
I’m a knight in shining armour
in my romantic fairy tale,
to win your heart forever
was to be my holy grail.
My quest was that I showed you love
you knew was made to last,
a love so strong it healed your heart
and swept aside your past.
You realised I loved you
with a love like none before
and your heart was saying I’m the one
that you’ve been waiting for.
With my soul full of commitment
and a love the blind could see,
you looked into my eyes to find
this was your destiny.
As I lay here and I wonder
about the dream I had last night
and the night sky has been broken
by the early morning light ,
there’s just one thing I know for sure
as I wake to face the day,
I know that when I hold you close
it takes my breath away.
