Knight In Shining Armor
As I close my eyes in need of sleep,
I see myself far away in valleys deep.
With dragons and tigers and mystical things,
And smoke rises to the sky as maidens do sing.
A knight in armor is what I must be,
Gallantly clad for all to see.
A thundering steed I sit astride,
In search of trouble as we scour the countryside.
A dragon flew overhead with wings of pink and blue,
Chasing another cloud or a dream or two.
A stream nearby full of golden nuggets and polished jewels,
With trolls beneath its bridge just watching for fools.
A shield on my side and a sword strapped cross my back,
Ready to battle all and to the loser no slack.
There stands the castle surrounded by a moat.
Inside lives the princess and I’m holding her note.
Save me, was all the note read,
Across the drawbridge I rode with great speed.
There stood the princess as big as a whale,
There is no way to weigh her she broke all the scales.
Save me she said as she took one more bite,
Save me she said please do what’s right.
So I turned and I fled like the trooper I am,
Running real fast as fast as we can.
Wake up, wake up I heard someone say,
You must have had a bad dream hope all is okay.
