Knight

I know I’m not the one to comfort her in my arms,
For that she’s chosen another.

I only hope that she has chosen him wisely,
For to date I can not be sure.

She may never feel for me as I do feel for her,
But her I shall never abandon.

She may ask me to leave for reasons known only to her,
Her wish I shall gracefully respect.

Use me she might or lie to me too, I’m not saying that’s what she does,
But should she do so, Then I may have to leave.

I will always be here for when she needs me again,
Even if I have had to go.

Never out of my thoughts even when she’s out of my sight,
Always I pledge to be her knight.
