Kneeling Silence

Kneeling on the ground
in her own backyard
silently, without a sound
She picks up the shards

Broken memories reflected behind broken glass
Scratching away at a spreading rash
Please, just take it away
Silence the carelessness you say

Sleeping without any dreams
Creeping up without any hope
Weeping within her silent screams
How will she ever cope?

She prays for the day
when you will take all this pain away
She made plans for a land
that she will one day understand

Kneeling on the ground
In her own room
Her heart begins to pound
and she turns into gloom

She removes the shards from her hands
They leave crimson rivers to follow
Shattered and broken plans
Despair is so hard to swallow

'Take my pain all away
For this I pray
Lord, I've fallen victim to the prey
Don't let my happiness stray'

Kneeling on the ground
she will not make one sound
Because no one is ever around
to comfort her heart when it starts to pound
