Notes About The Poem

Kites

Fly kite
Cut hands
Rob lands
Taliban

Children’s scars
Biblical fears
Commandments near
Steal not anothers' tear

Escape the evil hands
No music, no happiness
Dance your way to the Promised Land
Leave the blood and mountains of sand

The old ones die
So that the young may fly
In a new land
Without Taliban

The author encourages the reader to open one’s mind and taste what life has to offer. It paints a picture with words and lets you feel them...this is hard to accomplish and you've done it well. Emile.

I can't imagine what hell it would be to live in fear. It breaks my heart that people suffer. Children scared and not free to laugh and be a child without worries. Having the freedom and the pure joy of flying a kite. Just not fair or right. Thought provoking poem Arthur :)
