Kite String

string on one end
kite and tail on the other
                                    becomes a needle and thread
                                                in a quilt of blue
                                              darting in and out
                                       through the tufts of white
                                               tying earth to sky

I wrote this in memory of my brother; we would fly kites all day when the wind was just right and even tie our end to the porch while we ran in the house to eat lunch.
