Kissed By The Passing Breeze of Awakening Poetry Contest

Just before I crash landed into doubt,
There was a feeling, a quickening, a light
Who poured over my spirit, stirring, inviting
Me to listen to the whisper, the hush
Preventing me from falling beneath the cloud
Worries and fears, the haunting of dread,
Murmuring words of uncertainty, suspicion
Just before I lost the security of home,
There was a sensation, emotional awakening
Arousing my realization that this could be
The moment, the impression, the impact
Freeing me, releasing all the darkness, the black
Sliding like dew down a petal – erasing the past
With all its despair, filling me with surety
Just before I fell into a world of haunting,
Fears tumbling over my heart, preparing me
For the night when shadows would plunge me
Through the melancholic promises of a distrust,
Disbelieving even the greatest of victories,
Like fire burning up the dreams until instinct pulsed,
As if I’d been kissed by the passing breeze of awakening
On the shores of a silent wind, where miracles blend
With hope and peace, faith that weaves a gentling
Breathe of kindness, music caressing the inner place
Where love restores and bleeds joy over sweet grace,
Wonderful leaving the heart with a promise, a oath
To bring comfort in rainbows of expectation, potential
Never giving up… always leaning on the prayers that mingle…
With love that never fades, love that leads us on our way
To the moment when the breeze will finally say…
Yes, I have lived and I have shined and I have smiled,
With laughter, I have carried on – in the brilliance of a thought
Who knows, who believes, who remembers to not grieve
The moment when that kiss reached out, inspiring me to sigh
Knowing I’d been kissed by the passing breeze of awakening…
Forever, I will fly
