Kiss Me Goodbye

When you left you took my mind with you
on the surface of your lips.
With your hands on my hips,
you pulled it from me-
Out of my mouth and onto yours.
I saw you breathe it in
as it settled on your skin
and dried there in the morning air.
As you went, I felt the sunlight
hitting you and warming me.
It's the closest I'll be
to being there with you.
