Author's Notes: This Double Dactyl poem on "King Lear's Voice" was the perfect vehicle for me to capture, at a high level, some of the salient aspects of Shakespeare's historically tragic figure as I have depicted in the poetic text. King Lear, as with other famous Shakespearean plays, are truly as relevant in today's world as they were in the time of Shakespeare. This is even more evident when one realizes that Shakespeare, through his poetry and plays, was, and still is today, a true master of portraying and illustrating the many-sided aspects of what is called the Human Condition.
