Kindness Amidst Hate

Oftentimes I feel I am surrounded by hate that pens me in. Like it's just me, struggling to protect myself from the world's attacks. People around me thrive on negativity, but even when the whole world is covered in the awful darkness of hatred, God's light shines through. I know that I am not alone, and I want others to know that, too. My weapon to fight back those attacks is kindness. A kind word pushes back a circle of light for a friend, pointing them to God's light for them. No matter what hardship you are facing, there is always room for an act of kindness. Hate is like the sidewalk; a kind word is a flower bringing life amid death.
