Kilburn

thank you
" its a long way '' Carl Samberg
 as I often tell
 my wife
of half a hundred years
we lived here , together ,
 in life and strife
 struggling to be
 who or what we are
 we came as immigrants
 not knowing what
 was up ,
 or down the road
 Umpteen hours
 more or less
 i worked
 to impress
 i guess
 my boss
 back to the wall
 was my goal
 i reached as
 off the plane i fell
 and started on my way
to be what i am to day
 which is?
A poet, comedian,
creator, builder
  and caregiver
 all of largess ?
 i wish!
 a long way from Kilburn

 twenty two years
 in Britain’s mix
 some recovery
 will you fix
