Kicked To the Curb

There she lies, all bruised and bleeding.
She always gets up.
There's no conceding.
She'll never comprehend the reason.
Was it too easy because she was seasoned?
Another's strong emotional reaction kicked her to the curb.
Now she's in traction.
A broken system in the dust.
Whom can one truly trust?
Regardless how cloudy some days seem to be,
the sun will break thru eventually.

Hi Deb, As horrible as it is hopefully it will soon be amended. It has given me insight to our health care system and the disparities in charting that have impacted the care of people of color as well. Thanks for weighing in on this important topic.

Sometimes, doctors don't treat new patients well or even pretend to care about them. They only care about the money they get. It's like a business relationship without kindness. Sorry for what happened to you, dear Nancy

Hi Sotto, I just wish that the ball wasn't back in his court and that I didn't have to wait sixty days for him to fix it which he may not. I don't want to have to go legal to get lies about of my medical records but may need to. Thank God I'm healthy.

Hi Jan, The system runs slowly. Although I have been to medical records in person and they can see I'm cognizant, not delusional, etc. etc., it's up to this doctor to revise it. Crazy. My whole life has been advocating for adults with special needs and as a licensed massage therapist, I would never have gone to these unprofessional lengths to discredit a person under my care. Hopefully remedied soon. Thanks for commenting.

The scripture ," our life is like leaves , Once falling down , it can not returning to the branch." Everything has its right time...so nothing to fear about ...the important thing is to be ready daily. Being very old , it is not the synonym of death... Many young people depating daily , why our grand parents still living... " God has many secrets Which people don't know about. " Stay comforted...Alfonso.

Hi Alfonso, This poem is just my emotional processing from a recent experience with a new doctor here who out of anger falsified my medical records. He now has sixty days to correct this but may not. Fortunately, I am a healthy woman with some allergies. Discrepancies in a patient's permanent medical records impacts their future health care. It happens a lot in this country to people of color.
