Key: Heart
Key: Heart

I found a key,
A key to my heart;
I unlocked the door;
Entered where feelings start.
Found lots of hope and
Faith inside;
Some residual hurts,
That couldn't hide.
A lot of memories of
Abuse and neglect;
Forgiveness doesn't erase
The damage humans inflict.
In a sacred place
There stands an altar;
Remembering someone
Special, who truly
Mattered.
But all the hurts and losses
Could not curtail,
The spirited, powerful and
Resilient human soul.
I looked around and
As far as I could see,
There was still lots of
Love for humanity.
I left my heart,
Beating strong and
Sure;
Knowing the love and
Faith and hope
Would always endure.
