Key

On that fateful day 
Your soul did soar
You left your love forevermore
So search as I may
On that fateful day
No sign could I see
From you to me
It felt as if my heart had broken
Those final days no words were spoken
But as I searched through every drawer
A key to your heart I suddenly saw
Slowly unlocking a large leather book
Your journal
Your diary
Words precious
Words unheard
Words of love
Words of pain
Words to say we’d meet again
Words of love from you to me
Words here in perpetuity
