Kenya

Deep into his innocence
a glimpse, a spark on something new
courage in his hands and feet firmly planted on brilliance
But of course to his young mind, everything is new
To find a piece of my roots in his nuances
To relate all the secrets of success I know

Hypnotised by his baby cries
A diverted prayer that brought the devil to his knees
A venomous snake would never strike his fears
Such is the purity of the human heart to heal
I see all that we were in his whys?
A new life bubbling with atomic zeal

Every waking minute a study
Why none has memory of this fun hike
The tiny hands grasping and early steps sturdy
What it must be like exploring the world up on this rock
To the top of an empty head like a growing hair
Not to know, but to always expect to find fresh milk
