Notes About The Poem

Kemosabe

Our horses we dismounted and we tied them up outside
These superstores have double doors, which once were open wide
But now we face a checkpoint where we’re told to wear a mask
I said I wear one all the time, you didn’t need to ask
The man still barred my entry, I said move aside, Sir... pronto
I’ve got my mask, so let me pass, or deal with my mate, Tonto.

Thanks Ilene. I kinda knew the title might give the game away, but I liked it and took a chance. Glad you enjoyed. Terry

Very good. Made me laugh this Bank Holiday afternoon...The superstore wasn't The (Lone) Range was it? :)

Wrote it with a 6 line contest in mind, along with ‘Mr Tickety-Boo’. Actually settled on the latter, only to find the contest closed almost as soon as it opened. C’est la vie. Glad it gave you a laugh. Terry

Thanks Milt. The thing is, if the rule is ‘wear a mask’ I think he’s on solid ground. Terry
