Keep Going

What is the most important thing in life?
Some say money,
Others say family.
One might say success and prosperity.
The most important thing, though,
Is maybe something you wouldn't expect.
What is something people always say to have?
Hope.

We must always have hope,
For what is life without it.
A tragedy may strike,
And you would just give up,
Lie down and wait.
Wait for what?
Who knows.
Wait for hope?
Don't know that either.
Hope doesn't just come,
You have to call for it,
Believe in it and believe that you will make it.
Believe that no matter what you won't lie down and be consumed.
That you won't lose it,
Hope,
And that you will cherish it.

We wouldn't survive without hope for a better day.
Giving up is never an option,
No matter how hard you think it might be.
Letting that feeling push down on you,
Hold you down to wait for the vultures,
It will never end well.
You will never find peace in giving in,
There will always be that regret that you could have kept going,
Kept moving and breathing and thinking.
By then it will already be to late for hope,
For hope can't reach the ones below the surface of the darkness.
The ones that lost it,
The ones that didn't believe.
