Katrina-Mother Nature's Wrath

She appeared subtle
out of the depths
strengthened more than double
and caused so many deaths

so much fury and anger
satisfying Mother Nature
they tried to warn, none would listen
will the coastline ever again glisten

when there is so much at stake
come on people, what will it take
to make us come and stay together
not only through the bad weather

perhaps this is our pennance
God handing down our sentence
for always fighting and hating each other
when actually we are sisters and brothers

take a good look around
all the sights and all the sounds
all the major devastation
inside of our very own nation

can't we put our differences aside
and all animosities hide
even just for a little while
try to make the heavens smile

wake up people and hear
what God is telling us so clear
love your brother and your sister
don't wait for another disaster
