Karmic Wheel

That overlooked, we become, Tracks us down, like a hungry wolf, Eventually catching up, devours us, Leaving nothing, but itself. That forgotten, returns, Haunting us, night and day, When least suspected, it floods back, Taking with it, all we seek to protect. That which we pretend to be, engraves its name upon us, for all to see what we have become, and what we are no longer. And so turns the karmic wheel, around and around, until at last, its work with us is done.

Don, this is a bit of a cautionary tale. We should make our choices with care. There's not quick route to becoming what we envision, but there are many short cuts to whatever.

Spritual and realistic. A very meticulous wise write how the wheels of fortune turns with karma. Karma is a very deep concept, it automatically produces the consequences of cause and effect. Much regards for penning this

Thank you, Silpika. Yes you are so right in your observations. Karma is like a friend who always remembers your birthday but also never forgets that one time you accidentally ate their leftover pizza. It's like it has its own cosmic ledger, tallying points for the universe's most elaborate "I told you so" moment, ready to serve up a slice of poetic justice at the most ironically appropriate time! Best wishes, Don

your poem was indeed captivating, Don. I found wisdom and truth in phrases like "that overlooked, we become" and "that which we pretend to be engraves its name upon us." I enjoyed your reference to the karmic wheel, turning until it's done with us in this lifetime, right? Seriously, this was an outstanding poem. Have a great evening, Sara

Sara! Glad you enjoyed the poem. As I said to Tom, I had a cat named Karma, who reminded me she had 9 lives. I feel the karmic wheel turning in my own life, or maybe it’s just a bourbon hangover! LOL Cheers, Ronald McDonald Donald!

Everyone seems to be waxing philosophical today lol. Well I don't believe in Karma per say, but the principle found at Galatians 6:7,8 is pretty close. Interesting poem Don

Thank you for stopping by, reading, and commenting. Much appreciated. I had a cat named "Karma" for 16 years. She convinced me she had "9" lives? LOL. Take care. Don
