Karaoke

I'm going to karaoke
Purple people eater will be my song choice
and I'm determined to do it
In my best Alvin and the chipmunks voice.
It might not win the competition 
but it will be a lot of fun 
Isn't that the point of competitions 
When we enter one ?
My mates think I'm the double 
Of a very young Barry Gibb
They want me to sing something by the Bee Gee's 
but for me that would be a fib.
I'm not there to do impressions 
However brilliant they may be
I just have to do my very best
and be happy being me.
So i'll go along tonight
With my helium balloon
That will give the voice
To help me sing my tune.
Then I'll congratulate the winner
but if it is a chap
He'd better get the ale in
Or he's going to get a slap.

I usually sing ''Always on my mind '' nette That has become like a signature tune for me but every once in a while I like to be silly .

Reminds me of last Friday Peter and I went to a Karaoke night, didn't get up though, but there were some brilliant singers there, just everyday people, it is amazing how many good singers there are out there, very good write Darren, enjoyed it immensely........Vera...

There are some fabulous singers Vera but I love those who are tone deaf but think they are marvellous . Those who getting up for the first time are also a joy to watch and listen to .

I love the Chuck Berry version but I have a 7 year old nephew , He takes over my cd player when he gets in the car , Enya is out and Alvin in , Or the stones , Talk about can't get no satisfaction.lol Thank you Andrea

That sounds like an awesome time Darren ..... when I was 7 our baseball team was called the purple people eaters..lol ....I haven't thought of that in years..wonderful write my friend and hope you get some ale.
