Kaleidoscopic Kite

I am kaleidoscopic kite
soaring high~
'neath August sky
whilst children cheer
as I cuddle
cotton clouds
and glide deep down
myrtle mountains.

I soar ~
I flap ~
yet unafraid
for I am free
to enjoy summer's spree
in the comfort of your hands.

Hold my string
not so tight,
not so loose 
and never let me go.

Silent One August 19, 2020 at 12:48 PM A kite is fragile....Have to hold the string tight, or it may fly away in the wind...This poem is more personification then free verse... But written so well .
