Juxtaposition

I have walked
where sun shines brightly,
where red sunset
warms the evening shade;
where the memory of day
lingers lightly,
through the night
till dawn
gleams the ocean spray-

sand beneath my feet
with the out-going tide
slithers coolly
sinks me,
winding coils
around my toes-
