Notes About The Poem

For The Contest, 'The Cruelty of Hate and the Consequences of Hate'

Sponsor, Michael Fulkerson

Justice and Karma

“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth;”

	will justice be served by this ancient truth?

Eyes can't be restored, nor teeth grow to chew

	by just doing back what's done unto you.

Inaction may shock your foe's warring heart;

	deflate his command, the less you take part.

Perhaps walk away- do not fuel the fight

	make his felt defeat claim his sleepless night.

Let justice be dealt by his Karma's fate;

	be free from the task to strike back with hate.

As long as it is in my ability to do so, I keep the peace...leaning on Bible scripture. God said vengeance is his to take. From the day I joined you were my favorite serious poetess, Sandra, and you still are.
