Just Within Reach

The Improbable Geometry of You & Me 

Darling, you are my missing ampersand.
Our togetherness is hand-in-hand 
& when we travel places far & wide,
those long distances too are side-by-side.

Even on some remote, outstretched beach
There in your heart keep me just within reach.

You & I, we, are always parallel:
we are, near & far, at infinity.
There is no geometry to dispel
this improbability – you & me.
