Just Sail

Lay me down
Upon soft blue water
I surrender

Close my eyes
As I drown in you
I well remember

All those hands
That eluded me
As I went under

The sting of salt
That filled my heart
That cold November

No matter now
I’ve learned to swim
The toxic sea

The bottomless
Of loneliness
Unveiled to me

So, lay me down
Upon soft blue water
I’ll surrender

But not enough
To lose myself
To a cold November
