Just One More Tear
Just another teardrop cries
forming in the corners of my eyes.
How many now have fallen and are circling
with every thought and memory of you resurfacing?
Once they were all joy and laughter paired
chuckling at our youth and foolish endeavors shared,
but here they come again with all their worth
in fall and winter. spring and summer's rebirth
while in the shadows of a pale white sunburst
your nearness slipped away too easily dispersed;
gentle breezes tease the memories loosened free
drifting lightly in the branches of the holly tree
dancing on the water's frozen falling cascade
and I find myself alone despite the plans once laid.
Here they come again,
the constant tears for my best friend
leave your soul, your spirit here
allow me to cry with you, one last and final tear.
