Just One More Letter

Just one more letter from you Delivered by an angel to my door To see that familiar handwriting Read your precious words once more You so loved writing letters On small paper you did pen Letters full of who you were I long to receive again Never a confident speller Blank spaces left in your letters to later spell correct Though you always forgot to write them in Left for me to detect! It’s been so many years now You would have so much to share All about your cosy home in heaven And the friends you’ve made up there If a letter arrived I would make myself a latte In my beautiful garden I would sit Savour every word you wrote Keep your letter close… and never let go of it! As I write this poem My being aches, tears fall again Please write me one more letter Sender: Mum from Heaven….. I miss you my sweet mum xx

This made me cry, im so sorry for your loss and this is so touching and evocative, i miss all those in heaven and i wish i would receive just one more letter from them, especially my bestfriend she loved writing letters, and my grandfather sigh. Sending you lots of hugs, and i pray that your mom is resting in love and peace

Thankyou IE….my mum died many years ago and l miss her terribly. I would give anything to get another letter from her. They were funny also….she would leave blank spaces for words she couldn't spell to fill in at the end of the letter but more times than not she would forget and l would have to guess the words. I am sorry about your losses also your best friend and granddad! Thankyou for your lovely words….Debx

She meant everything to me as my dad when l was a baby and she raised her five children alone and there was never another man in her life….I always appreciate the kindness in your words Vijay! Thankyou Debx

I was teary-eyed after reading your poem. So many times I wish I could receive just one more letter from my mom who passed in 2004...even her familiar handwriting was comforting in and of itself.
