Just One Day
Laying in bed looking at the moon,
As the reflection radiates off,
The metal prison on wheels.
It glares and laughs at me,
As I dream of the way things use to be.
I walk on the beach feeling,
The warm sun on my face.
I see myself walking and feeling,
The sand as I get closer to the ocean.
My sanctuary
My peace
My heart
I smile as I feel the cold ocean on my toes.
Then as if it is a cruel joke,
I am yanked backwards.
I am looking into the eyes of the devil.
Realizing it is only the metal prison on wheels.
One day I will escape this prison.
One day I will walk on the beach.
One day I will smile as I feel the,
Ocean beneath my feet.
One day.
Just one day.
