Just Once

that night,
our night,
our moments
continually
play out
in my mind,
as we laid
together,
comforted
by the darkness,
talking about
our dreams,
our hopes,
thoughts
we had
at that moment,
each becoming
more intimate,
our desires
lit
like a torch,
lighting
and burning
into the night,
this passion
long waited on,
both of us
waiting
for it
to repeat
itself.
