Just Me, This Is My Life

It is my fate that others shall judge me
Command me and try to change me
Telling of the things to make me the same as others
I need not their approval to write or think
My freedom lives within me
Let them see of me what they will
I am me, I chose to live not just exist
For in all things I create I am me
Whether painter or poet, journals or songs
I am just as I am, and all that I am
My Spirit reigns supreme within me
Great Spirit’s love surrounds me
Therefore, though not perfection, I shall be
For within me is all that I need
No surface faces showing me how to smile
No hidden truths denying me unique style
Just me, with all I am, this is my life.

Wonderful, powerful affirmation poetically expressed. I am not judging, just accepting and appreciating. Thank you for taking the time to write and to comment.

It gets a lot easier when you realize everyone else is dead wrong in their judgments of you. The only way to prove that to yourself is to not judge them back. I speak from lack of experience as I judge people about 5 times a minute but it did used to be 50 times a minute a few years ago. Eventually you get the sense that it's not you that's imperfect it's the judgements that taint your vision and are ultimately holding you back.

I asked my daughter about her boyfriend and she told me "I can be me when I'm with him. I don't have to be anything different. I can just be me." When they left for Florida, I knew she had someone special to take care of her and for a Dad, It usually isn't that easy to say. I like this poem. Be you. Never change for anyone. Life is for living. God Bless. Vince

I wish that you will always be you undiminished. It is from the you alone that can flow words like "For in all things I create I am me Whether painter or poet, journals or songs" and cause alliteration to rise as music proclaiming the imagery of the god. Love

"i am me." seriously if it helps any this write just had a hell of an impact on me with everything going on in this chaotic college life style of everyone telling me what i should be.
