Just Like You
You intend to bully your way through life,
destroying anyone who blocks your path.
And being mortal, hedge the afterlife,
worshiping God because you fear His wrath.
You cast votes for corrupt politicians;
inferring that their lies are somehow true.
And condone deplorable conditions;
as the hungry masses enrich the few.
So please, don't try to make me just like you;
I choose to worship God from love, not fear.
And I will not sell my vote, as you do;
I cherish the freedoms that I hold dear.
I'm human, not an ant in an anthill,
and I'll not squander God's gift of free will.
