Just Like Us
God with us, the angel said.
Not far, and away out there.
Not hidden, or one to dread,
But one who loves to care.
Born a baby and became a man,
So that we could understand.
Loved us enough to give His best.
Conceived by a miracle? Yes!
Yes, God was manifested in the flesh;
But it was a 9-month pregnancy in Mary.
Jesus. Mortal, human, just flesh LIKE US.
Anguish, pain, tears, anger? Yes. But sinless.
Although He sought out and found many who
were lost, He needed help to carry His cross.
Yes. In many ways, He was JUST LIKE US,
But unlike us, he never turned to dust.
