Just Hold On

When all the pieces just fall apart,
Fall inside this void in my heart.
When all you cherished is all but gone,
All you have left is to just hold on.

When you climb your way to the top,
Then the bottom falls out and you drop.
I search for light but can’t wait for dawn.
All you have left is to just hold on.

When you stand back up yet feel alone,
Another lost soul in search of a home.
You have to stop at the line that’s drawn.
All you have left is to just hold on,

When you lay your head down to sleep,
Your eyes remain open so you count sheep.
Your mind grows tired your body yawns,
All you have left is to just hold on

Thanks Anne Lise, hope you are well. Life presents much sadness and sorrow but this is also a poem of hope. Sometimes you have to just hold on and things will get better. Have a great day and thanks for reading.....Mark
