Just Friends

An urge to speak Not that I must But it is your attention I yearn Or maybe affection From my recollection It's not just words that memory keeps Sometime in the past Before silence would last There were secrets for just you and me I Remember it well The days that once held A new found intimacy The slightest of touch A wink and nudge Your tease made me weak in the knees Those moments we had Aching, breathless and that Is the way which we used to be now, That's all long gone Cause Something went wrong our story had come to an end So We sit here outside Alone, side by side And quietly try to be friends

Nice rhyme scheme and flow. Makes you sad for the narrator at the end. The 'friends' thing never does really work...
