Just For Now

They said goodnight,
Parting for the moment,
As each felt
In the depths
Of their hearts
A pull.

Continuing on their
Separate ways
They knew it
Right, but yet
Craved
To be full.

For the pale moonlight
Was their light
Together shared
For them to
Witness
Each other’s
Hold.

Yet, they walked on
Knowing they’ll
Come together
To succumb
Again to
Each other’s
Control.

I like the interesting format of this poem. The lines last of the stanzas seem to link together which is an creative touch. Fitting title. Nice job! Karen

This left me breathless for a while! A great love poem. I loved the background of it and the way moonlight interfered:) Last stanza was very powerful. How often do lovers feel like that? Love, Chitra
