Just Don'T Ditch Us

A child disliking middle aged woman
Managed to get a few weeks off
Then you came and brought happiness to the library
Just don't ditch us

You were nice to us
You let us play games
You reminded us you were only a sub
Just don't ditch us

Days counted down
But the number was unconfirmed
The only condition was
Just don't ditch us

You saw my talents
You saw for what I am
Please go full time
Just don't ditch us

Then you left
Back the way it was
I should be used to it
But I don't have to like it

Every day I wished you would come back
So did the rest of the pack
Everyone knew I missed her
You coming back? When will that occur?

Then the librarian finally left
For good this time?
Subs came and gone
Every one of them I frowned upon

But something happened
Like the jackpot on a slot machine
You came back
Like a lost cat

Is our bitter librarian gone for good
Or just a few weeks
It could be end of year luck
Or is everything at it's peak?

Whatever happens
Just don't ditch us!
