Just Decide

There upon a rock, placed two platters
One, flourishing with gold and silver
The other, with a morsel of bread.
I felt it was a test, but still hesitated
I thought and thought, “why me?”
Why do I have to make a decision?
It should be easy, so very easy!
With riches I can buy simply anything,
But with bread, I can feel full, live on.
I have hungered for so long now
But, I never truly knew my hunger.
It isn’t for food, that hunger guides.
It is for life. It is for hope, for love.

So, when you come upon two platters
To find that one has flourishing riches
And the other one has only crumbs now.
Know, I was there before you
And see the second platter is not empty
But it offers you the same it offered me.
