Just Because I Said I Do

~~~
Ostracized
forsaken place
these bars of time
no saving grace
from whence I came
a fence I face
around and round
no end in chase
Just because
I said I do
I'm seldom excused
when postage due
No-one to share
I stand alone
to cheat despair
I scratch this poem
of matters fact
it finds no home
amid your care
dispense of drone
~~~

Were you in the service..I ask this because when my nephew was in Iraq he would write us poetry and it reminds me of where your thoughts are with this great write...I would have to read his work many times before I could get the feel for his emotions....I love this kind of write, makes you dig deep.....thanks for reading my work...

I was in the service back in the early 70s, though this piece recalls the battleground at home when I constantly ran out of ammo and the times I spent in prison camp (doghouse) :) thanks for reading

Interesting lines penned..Enjoyed reading this one..It is expressive with short lines but good rhyme..Thanks for the visit to my page..I would not want to get caught under the Weeping Willow in a strong wind for it would switch a person to death..Sara
