Just Because I Said I Do

Just Because I Said I Do
Dr. James E. Martin
©January, 2014

To the altar many years ago
We joyfully, nervously, cautiously did go.
Now these forty plus years hence
There are things we each find enormously intense!

To me I see no genuine gain
With her asking me where I left my brain.
She sees no humor when the seat’s left up
Nor when I yell at her little pup!

She continues to fuss and ignore my advance
When I refuse to change my stance.
Life, however, continues with glee
When I remind her that she can’t stay angry with me!
