Just ask and I'll bring you the moon
I will pluck it for you from the sky,
hang it up on a string in your room
as a thing to remember me by
When the seas of your dreams seem too dark,
just ask and I'll bring you the moon
Let it lead you as you disembark,
light the path where your troubles are strewn
Once a butterfly leaves her cocoon,
she grows strong as new wings are unfurled
Just ask and I'll bring you the moon,
so you long for few things in this world
And someplace, when you're grown and I'm gone,
there will raise from the seeds you have strewn
a sweet face you'll swear gazing upon,
"just ask and I'll bring you the moon"
