Just An Old Junk Car
Just an old junk car that doesn't run
but provides shelter for this missing one
Abandon on a lot in the old part of town
hardly a soul ever seems to come around
The train shakes the car and the ground
waking up the little girl yet to be found
Open the door and ready to scuttle out
if anything seen or heard about
Blue eyes showing fear shadow doubt
but hunger pains and you must go out
To venture near the city lights
hoping texting minds won't notice your plight
Find a dumpster for a meal
runaway runaway this is too real
Eager men with sleepy smiles
coax you near but you run wild
Like the little bunny out runs the wolf
like the deer out paces with her hoofs
Run run back to the dark
Back where the old junk car parks
Slam the door huddle on the floor
just an old junk car not needed anymore
