Just a Speck

NASA’s Voyager launched
For interplanetary travel
Sending home wild snapshots
Of our solar system and beyond
Giving us an awestruck concept
Of the wide expanse of galaxies
A vastness inconceivable

The irony so laughable
Over the ridiculousness
The infinitesimal triviality
The absurdity of man’s
Outrageously oversized ego
As like a king he parades 
Stomping on the speck
That’s our little blue planet

I know this is going to the choir, this is a powerful use of poetry in today's world to open the thinking of the reader with well-purposed verse. Actually, an ancient tradition for poets.
