Just a Shell

Why must there be such hatred and conflict,
For just a shell?
Why do we fight others and ourselves,
For just a shell?

What is this shell?
It is a cover that protects our soul.
It is a cover, which we leave behind when we are freed from our lives,
When our soul is released into God’s hands.

If this is so, then why all the conflicts?
Why the vanity and jealousy...
For just a shell,
Which holds the real worth and true meaning of us all?
