Just a Prayer

I need someone to pray for me, I’ve fallen and can’t get up.
I have no place to lay my head, there’s nothing left here in my cup.
I’m trapped within a void; my hopes and dreams are gone.
I have no love around my heart and little strength to carry on.

I’m lonely and forgotten, there is no search for me.
I’ve long since been abandoned, there are no eyes to look and see.
I’m homeless and I’m hungry, I’m cold and all alone.
I have nowhere to go, not even a stepping stone.

You’ll find me on the street, newspapers for a bed.
A cardboard box is all I have, pretty soon I will be dead.
The temperature is dropping, a prayer is all I need.
Can you find it in your heart and perform this little deed?

I’ve been separated from my flock, I need something to call my own,
maybe a final meal, before the good Lord takes me home.
Thanksgiving is upon us a message I hope you spare.
Please find it in your heart and help me with just a prayer.

A wonderful and true write. Too bad this goes on for many but God has not forgotten them. I try to help when I can. We all need to be thankful for what we have and what we can give. Have a blessed holiday season............

They took everything away from you except for your ability to write... there'll always be bread on our table... Nice write

I appreciate your kind words my friend. I'm thankful that this write is not about me. I have friends that have been homeless and it is not a good life.
