Just a Note

I told you before That pride was stronger than love You'll hear that no more Nor will you know what you do not believe I never spoke first If it all outside of poetry. I only grieve When I am alone, it's worse At nights, and after the rain I have memory like starapples Even when ripe they disdain To fall. I tasted them on your nipples Once. Memory gnaws my heart But pride keeps us apart
