Just a leaf
A tiny leaf spins wildly through the air
plucked by a wind pursuing storms with flair
wind and leaf dances in gay abandon
like they had burst from out a loose cannon .
Over hills and dales, the leaf flies solo
until horizons lose the sun’s halo,
the waves in oceans continue to roll
an eternal love to the shores their soul.
Can the leaf hide from trees, flee the planet?
Earth settles to sleep, grasses a blanket.
The leaf stays invisible in the dark
away from incessant griefs humans spark.
Silence is holy, the biting cold sends
shivers to minds, mere calm reason transcends.
